§ 00

A guitar sits between what you hear in your head and what actually comes out of the amp. It should make you want to play, then stay out of your way once you do.

Doesn’t matter if it’s a ’58 Les Paul, a $250 Jackson, or your dad’s ’82 Roadstar. It gets the same bench time and the same care I’d give one of my own. A guitar that’s set up right talks back to you, whether you found it in a pawn shop or saved for years to buy it. Years as an art director taught me to see what most people miss. Years at the bench taught me to fix it. The job is simple: get your guitar playing the way you want it, not to judge what’s on the headstock.

The Work

Everything here is done in-house, by me. Standard setups, Floyd Rose work, Evertune retrofits, 7-string baritones, active electronics, stainless refrets. The prices below are a starting point for a standard instrument. I look every guitar over when it comes in and give you a firm quote before I start anything.

01

Setup & Maintenance

Every setup is a full going-over: truss rod, nut slots, saddle height, intonation, pickup height. I set the whole thing to the way you actually play, by hand and by feel. I don’t work off templates or a factory spec sheet.

  • Standard setup$85
  • Floating tremolo (Strat / Jazzmaster)$105
  • Floyd Rose / Evertune / 12-string$125
  • String change + polish$30
02

Fretwork

This is the work you feel under your fingers on every note. Level, crown and polish, or a full refret in nickel or stainless. Every fret job comes back with a fresh setup already on it.

  • Fret end dressing$75
  • Level, crown & polish (incl. setup)$250
  • Full refret, nickel (unbound fretboard)from $385
  • Full refret, stainless steel (unbound fretboard)from $425
03

Electronics

Wiring, shielding, and whatever mods you’ve been meaning to get done. Maybe it’s a single pot swap, an active EMG retrofit, a full harness rebuilt to vintage spec, or some oddball switching scheme. It comes back quiet, tested, and with a wiring diagram so you know what’s in there.

  • Pickup install (per pickup)$50
  • Custom harness rewirefrom $155
  • Cavity & pickguard shieldingfrom $60
  • Pot / switch / jack replacementfrom $35
04

Custom Builds & Restoration

Scratch builds, partscasters, hot-rodded superstrats, and sympathetic vintage restorations. I document the whole thing as I go: the parts, the measurements, the photos. You’ll see exactly what went into it and why.

  • Partscaster / assembly buildfrom $350
  • Full custom buildfrom $2,150
  • Vintage restorationby assessment
  • Finish touch-up & repairby assessment
